Thanks to everyone from our Facebook Friends and Family group who joined us for RubiTrux' First Fall Friends and Family ride! Caleb Forbes, a RubiTrux staffer and Jeep conversion expert, led the scenic north western North Carolina backroad tour. The tour led us out of Boone on Highway 194 to Railroad Grade Road, in the historic preservation district of Todd. The sky beamed Carolina blue, and the leaves a hint of yellow and orange. It was a flawless, topless, doorless day to explore the picturesque South Fork of the New River, winding alongside the paved, but narrow, Railroad Grade Road. After a brief photo stop along the New River, we followed Railroad Grade Road to a left on Highway 221 in Fleetwood. From there, we drove to the historic town of West Jefferson and continued on to the top of Mount Jefferson State Park. We ended the tour with a friends and family picnic at the top of Mount Jefferson State Natural Area. Before we exited the State Park, we were able to snag some great shots of our Jeeps, and our friends and family enjoying the breathtaking mountain scenery and clean air. Afterward, everyone was free to hike the Mount Jefferson trails, explore the Town of West Jefferson, visit the popular Ashe County Cheese Factory, or ride the Blue Ridge Parkway and return to explore Boone.
