Look up a code
Codes are useful shorthand, not complete fitment data. Terms such as LJ, JKU, and JLU are widely used enthusiast or retail shorthand and may not appear as the formal model designation on every source.
Why codes matter
Model codes became essential to parts retail because “Jeep Wrangler” is not a precise fitment description. As generations, door counts, engines, transmissions, and electronic systems multiplied, a short code became the first branch in a much larger catalog decision.
